My client is a market leader in the design and construction of combustion turbine power plants in the US, serving more than 300 units at 160 plants, including simple-cycle, combined-cycle and cogeneration applications.

These plants have a total generating capacity of more than 100,000MW, ranging in size from 30MW to 1,370MW.

Their Norway office, the largest in Europe, is in the process of setting up a Power Group, to build upon the success of our US Offices who are already long-established in this area of the engineering industry offering a full range of services from conceptual studies and financing to full turnkey rebuild and major component additions.

The project manager provides leadership to the taskforce to ensure timely completion of all activities and deliverables during the various stages of multi-discipline projects.

The project manager is responsible for the technical integrity of the deliverables as well as the project cost and schedule and client relation management.
Besides project execution activities the project manager takes leadership in the development of competitive proposals, man-hour and capital cost estimates.

Key responsibilities:
- Maintains client relations.
- Develops and maintains an appropriate business and execution strategy.
- Executes the project by delivering the right quality within budget and schedule.
- Acts in dual role, engineering and project manager, when required.

Minimum requirements:
- Previous experience of managing multi-million pound projects with a power engineering contractor or engineering department of a major power generation organisation.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Engineering degree.
- Willingness to travel.
- Candidates from a Nuclear background will be considered.
- CEng preferred.
